The Compass Rose colourscheme was introduced in 1984. Apparently 'the compass rose points North, reflecting Nordair's northern origins whilst its points in other directions indicated Nordair's growth into many new markets'. Whatever the case it was a major improvement over the rather bland all blue scheme with the N on the tail.
This aircraft C-GNDH was originally delivered to Ozark as N4220 in December 1967. She was sold to ACES Colombia ten years later as HK-1981X (later HK-1981) and then to TAT four years later as F-GDAH. By August 1988 she was back in Europe, this time with Malmo Aviation as SE-KGA. She was operated by Sweden Airways, Air Nordic and Newair until her sale in 1998 as N529LE to LegionAir Express. Sold again to Rollins Air in 2000 as HR-ARZ she seems never to have been operated and remained engineless for at least nine years. Presumably she's been scrapped since the last photo I could find in 2009.
